Bart Mellish MP Club Challenge 2019
To be held at Geebung and Aspley Bowls Club bi-annually at mutually acceptable dates
Game 1 – Saturday 25th May 2019 at Geebung
Game 2 – Saturday 28th September 2019 at Aspley
Conditions of Play
Each Club to nominate seven (7) mixed teams comprising of 2 men and 1 woman or 2 women and 1 man who may play in any team position.
A Manager is to be appointed from each Club for the day for the purposes of communication.
The Challenge is to comprise of two (2) 25 end games (or bell after 2.5 hours) of two (2) bowl triples with lunch separating the morning and afternoon games.
A trophy is to be awarded to the winning Club on the basis of the highest total combined score of all teams. (B Mellish MP requested to provide the Trophy)
Allocation of Prizes
Four (4) team prizes will be allocated as follows:-
1st prize of $150.00 will be awarded to the team that has won 2 games and has the highest combined winning scores.
The runners up prize of $105.00 will be awarded to the team that has won 2 games and has the next highest combined winning score.
The 3rd prize of $75.00 will be awarded to the team with the highest winning score in the first game.
The 4th prize of $75.00 will be awarded to the team with the highest winning score in the second game.
No team to win more than one prize.
The trophy will be awarded to the club with the highest combined total of all team scores. In the event of tied total scores the result will be decided upon the highest number of winning ends.
Control of the Day
Club Presidents are to be responsible for running the Challenge. Each club will be responsible for running their home games.
First game 9:30 am start (no morning tea) 12:00 bell.
Lunch 12 noon to 12:45 pm.
Second game 12:45 pm start (no afternoon tea) with a 3:15 bell. Should the second game be able to be started earlier, the bell time will be adjusted accordingly.
Afternoon tea and presentations are to follow the conclusion of the second game.
Morning game – seven teams from each Club to play seven teams from the other Club – the afternoon game as per the morning game except that no team to meet the same team they played in the morning game. The home club should allocate rinks for both games before the start of the first game.
Trial Ends and Possession of the Mat
Players may have trial ends of 2 bowls each way at 9:15am – time permitting.
Each side Manager is to toss for start of play, both morning and afternoon games.
Green fees for the day will be $20.00 per player that includes Lunch, Afternoon tea and GST.
The Manager for each club is to collect the green fees and pay to the home club.
An Umpire will be appointed (non-playing if possible).
